Legends Big B and Ilaiyaraaja to collaborate on the National Anthem

Hindi cinema icon Amitabh Bachchan and music maestro Illaiyaraaja have teamed up for a new audio-video of the National Anthem. Big B is lending his vocals to the music arranged and orchestrated by Illaiyaraaja. The video, helmed by filmmaker R Balki, will be shot by South Indian cinematographer PC Sreeram.
Asserting that the National Anthem Jana Gana Mana will remain the same, Balki explains, “Only the orchestration and arrangements will change.When legends like these perform an anthem, they will do it in a proper, traditional and formal way. It will be purely classical. It will inspire people.”

Ilaiyaraaja, who has composed music for over 1000 movies, will also be felicitated at a function in Mumbai on January 20.
